Bus Naming/terms

Before you start to get confused, let me explain a little. It is broken into 3 categories,
1 - Chasis
2 - Engine
3 - Bodywork

So Volvo Olympian Alexander means; Engine by Volvo, Chasis by Olympian and bodywork by Walter Alexander & Sons. In some case there area ony 2 categories, leaving out the bodywork name because it is provided by the manufacturer as standard. For example Leyland Lynx, means Leyland engine and chasis type is Lynx.

The Olympians

Nothing to do with the olympics nor is it a typewriter.

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to one of the greatest.....

Volvo Olympian and Leyland Olympian

Feast your eye, let your imagination run wild, get excited,

1 2
3

1) Chasis type Volvo Olympian, body - Palatine II
2) Chasis type Volvo Olympian, body - Walter Alexander
3) Chasis type Leyland olympian, body - Walter Alexander

Why get so excited over these?

VW type 82

Otherwise known as the kubelwagen.

Is is design to mobilise nazi germans in the harshes terrain. A certain Adolf Hitler says, " I need a car to mobilise my men through any sort of terrain." So what they did was take the Beetle, strip it all apart, put a bathtub on the chasis and fit it with bigger tyres. The person who design this thing is Ferdinand Porsche. So for all you Porsche owners and lovers out there, beware, you don't like jews.

Remarkably, after the war, this thing went on sale as a normal car and many people bought it. VW update the design here and there but because the name Kubelwagen sound daft and they had no imagination about what to call this thing, they just called it VW Thing.

Ha ha....seriously, searh for VW thing and you'll get it.

The above picture very well describe my blog title. Elephant and Castle. So what is it?

Is it a cartoon character? No.
Is it a picture from a tarot card? No.
Is it a new species of elephant? No.
Is it a medieval castle shape of an elephant? No.

It is a major road intersection. Search in wikipedia "elephant and castle" and read all about it.

So how come two completely unrelated thing can come together?
How about "coffee and eraser" or "video and blood" or "glass and cockroach" ?

Anyway it is not what this blog is about.
Elephant and castle says he will explain what his blog is about later.
